Erskine (Arasgaaround in Scottish Gaelic) is a commuter town around Renfrewshire, Scotland, located on the southern bank of the River Clyde at the american extent of the Glasgow conurbation.
A title Erskine derives from either Eriskyne, the contraction of the Gaelic air an sgian, meaning upon the knife. These are said that a Scotsman under the command of Malcolm II uttered the sentence fallowing slaying the Danish leader at the Battle of Murthill.
Erskine is probably better known for the suspension bridge towering high over a town which it offers its title to, a Erskine Bridge.
